We are looking for your leadership skills, manufacturing know how, and positive attitude to effectively lead a team as a Shift Supervisor!

The Advance Group is currently seeking a Shift Supervisor for a Plastics manufacturer located in Addison, MI. The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading a team in a manufacturing setting.

Compensation for the Shift Supervisor candidate:

• $26-$28 per hour depending on experience

Hours for the Shift Supervisor candidate:

• Monday- Friday 2:45pm-11:15pm
• Overtime and Weekends may be required

Requirements of the Shift Supervisor candidate:

• Prior supervisor or management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools such as tape measurers, steel-rules, calipers, attribute gauges, gauge blocks and pins
• Must be proficient with using a tape measure to withing 1/16”
• Ability to use common hand tools and to setup and operate various common powered tools and production equipment
• Ability to lift up to 55lbs
• Ability to read and comprehend production documents and simple mechanical drawings is a plus
• Must have basic skills with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to use ERP systems, with training
• Willingness to learn to operate a Forklift
• Ability to interact positively with supervisory personnel and coworkers
• Ability to lead a team in a positive manner
• High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor position:

• Coordinate production plans with Production Manager and work off of production orders, drawings, written specifications, and similar documents
• Train and develop team members on operating processes (injection molding, cnc router, bends, assembly procedures, etc) and operates lines when needed as back-up
• Train and develop team members on job assignments in accordance with applicable quality and manufacturing procedures, work instructions, good manufacturing practices, and safety procedures
• Coordinates and/or completes line changeovers
• Develops identified team members to handle line changeovers, while retaining responsibility for successful performance
• Audits quality and production performance, in accordance with work instruction and inspection plans, throughout the shift to ensure quality requirements are being achieved and taking corrective actions as appropriate
• Operates small hand and power tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, power hand-drills, routers, rivet guns etc)
• Operate powered machinery such as drill-press, power saw, pneumatic and hydraulic punches, and other such equipment
• Trains and develops team members as well as completes count accuracy, packaging/skidding, and labeling in-process and finished product in accordance with work instruction, non-conforming material, and procedural requirements
• Transfer stock and finished product either manually or by means or handcarts, pallet jacks, and forklift
• All other duties as assigned by manager
