Electrical Engineer | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $76,000 - $121,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex electrical issues on production lines to minimize downtime.
• Program, maintain, and optimize PLC-based control systems, HMIs, and VFDs for automation.
• Ensure all electrical installations, modifications, and repairs comply with safety standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
• Lead electrical engineering projects from conception through commissioning, including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing enhancements to electrical systems for efficiency and reliability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive electrical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI development for industrial automation.
• Experience with the design, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems, including VFDs, servomotors, and sensors.
• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems, motor control centers, and arc flash safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E).
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical and automation issues to minimize production downtime.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) for creating and modifying electrical schematics and panel layouts.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA development and configuration.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
• Experience with robotics or vision systems in a manufacturing environment.
