Rotary Surface Grinding Machinist (Blanchard)

About the Role

Join our team as a rotary surface grinding machinist operating 48” to 100” Blanchard grinders. You will set up and run equipment to produce flat, in-tolerance surfaces using precision measuring tools and by interpreting customer blueprints and specifications. This is a full-time position with 12-hour shifts (day & night available).

What You’ll Do

• Set up, adjust, and operate Blanchard rotary surface grinders for flat grinding of steel and other metals.
• Plan machining sequences on rotary wheel equipment to achieve required finish and tolerance.
• Make machine adjustments and calibrations to meet tight dimensional and surface finish requirements.
• Use scales, micrometers, calipers, and indicators to perform setups, verify dimensions, and document results.
• Read and interpret part drawings, specifications, and grinding instructions to confirm dimensions and tolerances.
• Use magnetic tables, chucks, clamps, and appropriate supports to secure irregular and multiple-piece setups while preventing distortion.
• Apply statistical tools and SPC methods to maintain process control and ensure quality consistency.
• Operate overhead and/or jib cranes to safely move and position workpieces.
• Inspect and maintain machine fluid levels and keep the work area organized each day.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
