Advanced Quality Engineer
:
The Advanced Quality Engineer, working in collaboration with our Suppliers, Gestamp manufacturing plants, and Customers, is responsible for successful launch of project by using Gestamp procedures/systems to satisfy quality milestones from initial quality concept to final approved PPAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Quality Planning activities such as PFMEA, Pre-Production Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection Sheets.
- Customer quality strategy, GD&T reviews, Check fixture design reviews, documentation reviews, pre-buyoff / buyoff activities and PPAP.
- Pre-production builds and documentation requested by the customer. Manage Launch containment (GP12) activities.
- Assist in the development of dimensional control strategies and the design and procurement of gages and instruments. Coordinate Gage R&R studies. Perform Gage buyoff.
- Successful delivery of PPAP and launch for programs, engineering changes, etc.
Work Experience
- Maintains technical expertise required to do the job effectively using quality tools (APQP, PPAP, IATF-16949, 8D, etc.)
- Travel up to 20% of the time and work extended hours.
- Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement (Lessons Learned).
- Provide training to Production Associates.
- Use of process flow charts, characteristic matrix, process illustrations, PFMEA, control plans, process sheets, visual aids, gage instructions, control charts.
Knowledge and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent level of experience.
- APQP gate Review development process, FMEA and GD&T.
- IATF16949/ ISO14001 compliance.
Additional Information
- Employees must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to listen to, communicate, and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
