As a Powersports Accounting Manager at Fox Powersports Grand Rapids, your daily responsibilities will include overseeing financial reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will analyze financial data and create reports that guide decision-making processes. Expect to manage budgeting and forecasting efforts, collaborating with various departments to develop accurate financial projections. You'll also be responsible for auditing processes, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring timely account reconciliations.

In addition, you will lead a talented accounting team, providing support and guidance while fostering a collaborative and problem-solving culture. Engage with customers and stakeholders to address inquiries and enhance their experience. Regularly assess workflows, identifying areas for efficiency improvements, and championing best practices throughout the organization. Building strong relationships within the team and with external partners will be essential as you contribute to the company's overall success.

To excel as a Powersports Accounting Manager at Fox Powersports Grand Rapids, you will need a robust background in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the powersports, marine, or motorcycle dealership sectors. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred, providing a strong foundation for the tasks you'll undertake. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential for data analysis and reporting. Familiarity with software tools such as Bloomberg Fixed Assets and DealerTrack will also support your daily operations.

You should possess strong analytical skills to review month-end general ledgers and financial statements accurately. Effective communication and leadership abilities will be crucial as you oversee office personnel and foster teamwork. Being detail-oriented and organized will help you manage quarterly assessments, budgets, tax returns, and cash control procedures effectively. A problem-solving mindset will aid in navigating special projects and improving financial processes, ensuring excellence in your role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Essential Duties:
  • Monitoring and supporting daily operations including oversight of office personnel.
  • Review month-end GL's and financial statement packages for reporting to the Director of Accounting.
  • Monthly submission of all financial statements to Huntington.
  • Quarterly Balance sheet assessments - all dealerships.
  • Assist in annual operating and capital budgets - all dealerships.
  • Assist in annual completion of all Personal Property Tax returns.
  • Assist in Fixed Asset management for the dealerships.
  • Assist in cash control procedures and auditing activities, as requested.
  • Assist in annual tax support reporting.
  • Special Projects as requested.
Skills & Experience:
  • 3+ years of powersports/marine/motorcycle dealerships accounting experience.
  • Bachelors in Accounting preferred.
  • Computer proficiencies in Microsoft Office, Excel, Bloomberg Fixed Assets and DealerTrack.
