Salary Range: $46,000 - $71,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations on various materials and components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders.
• Inspect welds for quality, integrity, and adherence to standards, making necessary adjustments.
• Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting parts.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Document welding processes, material usage, and quality control checks.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve welding issues and improve processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Certified welding skills (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.3) in relevant processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW).
• Experience with various welding equipment and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and practices.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with automated welding systems (e.g., robotic welding, submerged arc welding)
• - Certified welding inspector (CWI) or similar credential
• - Proficiency in welding procedure specification (WPS) development and qualification
• - Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (e.g., radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle)
