Fire Sprinkler Inspector
As a Fire Sprinkler Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of buildings and facilities by inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems. This position requires a strong understanding of fire codes, standards, and regulations, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems.
- Sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge)
- Fire pumps and controllers
- Standpipe systems
- Emergency lighting systems
- Portable fire extinguishers
- Kitchen suppression systems (where applicable)
- Special Hazards systems (where applicable)
- Identify deficiencies and non-compliance issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, test results, and recommendations.
- Interpret and apply relevant fire codes and standards, such as NFPA, IFC, and local regulations.
- Communicate effectively with building owners, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding fire safety requirements and inspection results.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Stay up to date on the latest fire protection technologies, codes, and regulations.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of experience in fire protection system installation or inspection, testing, and maintenance.
- Possess relevant State and/or National certifications, where applicable.
- Strong knowledge of fire codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IFC, IBC).
- Familiarity with various fire protection systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work on a ladder.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday
