Job Type: Contract to Hire

Pay: $25-$40/HR

We are seeking motivated Carpenters and Metal Stud Framers with at least 2 years of wood and/or metal stud framing experience to join a growing commercial construction team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects including multi-family developments, retail build-outs, tenant improvements, healthcare facilities, educational buildings, and historic renovations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install wood and metal stud framing systems according to project plans and specifications
• Assist with layout, framing, drywall backing, soffits, ceilings, and specialty assemblies
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents
• Measure, cut, and install materials accurately and efficiently
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and layout equipment safely
• Work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts as required
• Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project schedules
• Follow company safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Coordinate with foremen, superintendents, and fellow tradespeople to ensure successful project execution

Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

• 2+ years of commercial or residential wood and/or metal stud framing experience
• Ability to safely use common carpentry hand and power tools
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and layout
• Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Chicagoland area
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical work in varying jobsite conditions
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail

Journeyman-Level Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial metal stud framing experience preferred
• Ability to independently read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Experience framing walls, soffits, ceilings, and complex assemblies
• Experience with commercial construction projects
• Familiarity with laser layout equipment and precision framing techniques
• OSHA 10 certification preferred

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $25 to $40 Per Hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
