Precision Press & Weld Technician

Picture your day in our Kalkaska, MI facility: you clock in, review digital job travelers on a workstation, and move between presses, welders, and inspection stations—turning blueprints into high-quality parts that ship around the world. You’ll work with seasoned pros in a shop that’s been mastering manufacturing since 1943 , where craftsmanship and safety go hand in hand.

What you’ll do

• Operate power presses and manual kick presses to fabricate components.
• Assemble parts using resistance welding , soldering , and torch/induction brazing .
• Perform microscope inspections to verify quality.
• Cut and form wire using wire mesh shear tables and other shop equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and production documentation .
• Use a computer to scan jobs in/out, track workflow, and pull up digital job details.
• Support tool & die maintenance with lathes, CNC machines, grinders, and drill presses .
• Measure parts with micrometers, calipers , indicators, and go/no-go gages to confirm spec compliance.
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Additional ways you’ll contribute

• Package finished product for shipment or storage.
• Assist with materials handling and inventory activities.

What you bring

• 1–2 years in a manufacturing or factory setting (preferred).
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• High school diploma/GED and/or ability to pass a basic math test .
• Comfort lifting up to 30 lbs and standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to Kalkaska, MI .

• Experienced with hand and power tools.
• Fluent in reading blueprints and technical drawings.

• Detail-focused, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Vision/physical capabilities

• Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
• Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes remain focused on a given point).
• Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
