Job Description – Inside Sales Representative

Location: Detroit, MI
Reports To: Business Unit Manager
Position Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Pay Range: $23 - $25 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing customer inquiries, processing orders, and supporting overall sales initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth. This position involves order placement, account management, issue resolution, and proactive sales outreach. Occasional outside travel may be required.

Essential Job Functions

• Respond to customer inquiries (phone, email, written) regarding new orders, order status, and issue resolution.
• Generate sales leads, prepare quotes, and enter confirmed sales into the company system for tracking and processing.
• Process customer-related paperwork including credit applications, freight quotes, custom color requests, returns, and invoice copies.
• Follow up on confirmed sales to ensure on-time shipment and delivery.
• Support overall sales objectives and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Manage dealer account information, including commission processing.
• Maintain and update customer contact information in the company database.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support sales and operations.

Work Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service environment.
• Experience in sales and/or manufacturing industries preferred.

Required Skills

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
