Electrical Estimator II

Auburn Hills, MI (Direct Hire)

Reliance One is seeking an Electrical Estimator II to join a leading automation and material handling systems company supporting the automotive manufacturing industry. This role is responsible for estimating the electrical and controls scope for complex material handling systems while collaborating with engineering, sales, and customers to develop cost-effective automation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Estimate costs for the electrical and controls portion of automated material handling systems.
• Develop complete system cost estimates by incorporating controls, electrical, and installation costs.
• Support the design and development of conveyor systems and standard cost evaluations.
• Define electrical components for industrial control systems.
• Assist with technical proposals and bid development.
• Gather customer requirements and translate them into functional technical specifications.
• Identify value-added engineering (VA/VE) opportunities that meet customer requirements.
• Present technical solutions to customers and support proposal presentations.
• Visit customer sites for pre-bid meetings and proposal development.
• Assist with supplier evaluations and sourcing activities.
• Travel as needed and work occasional overtime to meet proposal deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience with system design and implementation in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Rockwell PLC and HMI components (experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or GE is a plus).
• Experience with industrial control systems and automated material handling equipment.
• Strong background estimating electrical and controls costs for automation projects.
• Experience developing bid proposals is preferred.
• Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams and system layout drawings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, OSHA, NFPA 79, and UL508A standards.
• Experience working with automotive customer specifications.
• Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 2-6 years of experience in electrical engineering, controls design, or electrical estimating.
