Job Title: Mainframe Operator / IT Operations Support

Location: Pontiac, MI (Onsite)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Mainframe Operator / IT Operations Support professional to function as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT systems and infrastructure. This role involves monitoring, triaging, and resolving incidents across enterprise environments, including mainframe systems and network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, hands-on experience with monitoring tools, and the ability to operate in a 24/7 support environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical incidents and system events.
• Create, triage, escalate, and track IT incidents through resolution.
• Monitor infrastructure, connectivity, and services using monitoring tools.
• Utilize graphical monitoring systems to track availability and system health.
• Monitor IBM mainframe control consoles and evaluate system performance.
• Assist with review and validation of Job Control Language (JCL) .
• Communicate effectively with IT teams, business users, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation.
• Perform operational support tasks and deliveries as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, mainframe support, or incident management.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Teams .
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as WhatsUp Gold, Pingdom, and PRTG .
• Experience working with IBM Mainframe environments .
• Strong understanding of system monitoring and incident management processes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
