What you'll do:
As Senior EV Software Controls Engineer for our Blue Arc commercial electric vehicle division in Plymouth, MI, you will be accountable for developing, implementing, and testing EV controls software and hardware and for creating component and system-level design and release documentation for our electric vehicle systems.
Additionally, your role as Senior EV Software and Controls Engineer will be instrumental in shaping the future of how electric specialty are designed, built, and delivered.
- Specifying, developing, implementing, and testing of EV controls software
- Performing controls strategy development and verification for electric vehicle components and systems
- Designing improvements to existing and future EV software systems
- Building and modifying Simulink code to run on a real-time embedded target
- Interfacing with the production team to resolve engineering change requests
- Participating in component selection and verification activities
- Creating manufacturing, assembly, and service-related documentation
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related
- 6+ years' experience in controls systems engineering or software engineering in the automotive
- 6+ years of Matlab/Simulink experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings, prints, schematics, and diagrams
- Experience writing embedded applications on microcontrollers (required)
- Experience working with CAN and the J1939 protocol (required)
- Experience writing C++ and Python (desired)
- Experience with wire harnesses and automotive electrical systems
- Experience with SIL and HIL systems for developing real-time controls
- Experience with System Engineering & V diagram
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collect, organize, analyze, and report on data with attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter, able to start and complete projects quickly and independently
