Production Scheduler

Job Title: Production Scheduler Location: Jackson, MI Zip Code: 6801 Duration: 12 months Pay Rate: $22.84/hr. Keyword's: #Jacksonjobs; #TProductionSchedulerjobs; Start Date: Immediate Position Overview: As a Production Scheduler, you will represent the plant within a Network and have the responsibility to facilitate seamless execution and adherence to planned production volumes and dates for the plant"s performance across core business objectives such as inventory, cost and customer satisfaction. The Production Scheduler"s focus lies on managing the short-term frozen horizon for the plant through collaboration with cross function teams including operations, quality and engineering. Essential Functions:

• Adhere and align to the Master Production Schedule
• When constraint; re-sequence/re-route production orders to minimize deviation from MPS
• Escalate execution issues to Network Schedulers when resolution time is not allowing adherence to MPS
• Manage shop floor scheduling; level load orders based on capacity in the cell
• Manage work orders to ensure manufacturing has required work at all times, communicates on overtime requirements
• Direct daily workflow (WIP - 'work in process') through analysis of reports and input from cross-functional teams
• Align and set priorities for resources and shared resources across factory to maximize efficiency and material flow to ensure customer OTD
• Expedite orders for customers where possible; expedites shortages with buyers; communicates updates to customer service
• Ensure work orders for their areas of responsibility are current, not past due, not in pick status for long periods of time
• Support minimizing past due sales dollars, monitoring and resolving quality issues and drive customer on-time delivery
• Supports High Performance Work Teams & flexible/capable of working in different environments
• Supports plant continuous improvement
• Prepare reports and other correspondence for use by Client's SCM professionals
• Communicate with cross-functional teams including: Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Purchasing
• Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and techniques which will improve the scheduling function
• Ensure compliance with applicable contract flow down (FAR, DFAR, ITAR, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1-2 years in Supply Chain Role.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Jackson, MI will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor"s degree from an accredited institution
• Prefer a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or supply chain
• Thorough knowledge of industry, complex machined materials management, lean manufacturing, MRP/ERP, and MFG Pro a plus
• Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization (customers, marketing, engineering, quality, and manufacturing) is key
• Desire to work in a collaborative environment with strong ability to take action and get results
• Ability to quickly analyze, identify and implement opportunities and corporate initiatives for improvement that have a measurable impact
• Change management skills a plus

Additional Information:

• This position requires the incumbent to apply analytical and problem-solving skills, which includes a strong knowledge of supply chain and purchasing problem solving tools. Incumbent should possess statistical tools application skills.
• This position drives value by defining problems and eliminating root causes and creates supply chain solutions for process improvements.
• This position exhibits expert communications for internal and external customer interactions.
• This position requires proficient computer-systems knowledge and application skills with solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
