This position is limited to a term not to exceed two years. Incumbent may be re-appointed to additional terms.

This position provides executive administrative and secretarial support to the Deputy Treasurer of Revenue Services and Assistant Deputy Treasurer. This position performs a variety of tasks that are highly confidential and sensitive in nature. These responsibilities include coordinating office management activities; overseeing the preparation of correspondence; establishing guidelines for screening calls and correspondence; scheduling duties including coordinating and maintaining the Deputy Treasurer's calendars; preparing agendas; collecting materials for correspondence; keeping records of proceedings upon request and serving as liaison to other agencies and executive staff. This position may also assist Bureau Directors within Revenue Services with any special project support that may be needed. Treasury Careers -

Required Education and Experience

Education Education typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience Four years of administrative and executive support experience equivalent to a Senior Executive Management Assistant 9, Secretary 9, or Legal Secretary 9; three years equivalent to an Executive Secretary E10, Legal Secretary 10, or Secretary Supervisor 10; or, two years equivalent to a Senior Executive Management Assistant 11, Executive Secretary 11, or Secretary Supervisor 11.

Alternate Education and Experience

Possession of an associate's degree in applied arts and sciences in an executive secretarial science curriculum may be substituted for one year as a Secretary 9.

Additional Requirements and Information

Applicants who possess a degree from a foreign college or university must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents unless the degree has been recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) . Go to evaluators for a list of accepted organizations that evaluate foreign credentials. Failure to provide this evaluation at the time of application may result in you being screened out of the process.

This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work and secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. The Michigan Department of Treasury participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Interviews will likely occur virtually using Microsoft Teams. No prior experience with Teams is necessary, as instructions and tips will be provided to all candidates scheduled for an interview. This position has a FTINPRINT sub-class code. The sub-class code indicates the position has access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and requires passing of a fingerprint-based background check per IRS Publication 1075.
