Description
- Conducts site prep including assembly, painting, kitting, labeling and color coding
- Conducts equipment inspections and completes proper documentation. Identifies unserviceable equipment and reports this to the foreman
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and RF design
- Installs, replaces, and troubleshoots wireless equipment based on direction
- Assists with rigging tower as needed
- Performs equipment testing such as sweeps, fiber optic, electrical and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing under supervision
- Properly operates equipment such as Capstan hoist, Ariel lifts, etc.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Follows all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Should have at least 2 years of experience climbing towers
- Verifiable work experience and references
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to communicate and understand verbal instructions in English
- Knowledge and proper use of various hand tools and power tools
- Willing to travel and work long hours/weekends/overnights as needed
- Knowledge in operating test equipment such as Passive Intermodulation (PIM) gear, Anritsu Site master and Fiber Test gear
- Microsoft Office computer skills a plus
- Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check
- NWSA TTT1 preferred, but not required
- Must possess the following:
- Climbing/rescue certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- RF Awareness training
- OSHA 10
Physical/Work Requirements
- Employee will regularly climb a vertical structure as needed, typically between 100 and 300 feet, but could be up to or over 500 feet above ground level
- Employee will regularly lift and carry over 80 pounds
- Employee will be required to work overhead
- Employee will regularly twist, bend, stand, crawl, or kneel to perform job
- Employee will periodically hand dig trenches
- Work environment is primarily outside and as such presents varying, sometimes extreme, weather conditions
