Schedule: Monday Friday 7:30am-12:30pm
Pay: $15.00 $17.00 per hour (based on experience)
Location: 16225 E. Warren Ave. | Detroit, Michigan
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Part-Time Cook to join our daycare team. This role is responsible for preparing healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a childcare setting and understands the importance of nutrition for young children. Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 46 hours per day (daytime shift)
- No evenings or weekends
- Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks for children
- Follow approved menus and nutritional guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food storage areas
- Monitor and accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions
- Receive, check, and properly store food deliveries
- Keep records of meals, food temperatures, and inventory, complete food program paperwork
- Work with staff to ensure smooth meal service
- Previous cooking experience required (childcare or school setting preferred)
- Knowledge of food safety and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to cook efficiently for groups
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in daycare, school, or institutional kitchen setting
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift 2540 lbs
