Salary Range: $46,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire and sinker EDM machines.
• Program EDM machines by interpreting engineering blueprints, CAD models, and work instructions.
• Monitor machining processes, adjusting parameters as needed to ensure part quality and adherence to tight tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting of EDM equipment.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Document production data, quality checks, and any deviations or issues encountered during operation.
• Select and prepare appropriate electrodes, wires, and dielectric fluids for specific machining tasks.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators for in-process inspection.
• Ability to perform machine setup, tooling installation, program loading, and make necessary offsets and adjustments.
• Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software for file handling and familiarity with EDM machine control interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot common machine issues and identify part quality discrepancies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for part verification or basic program adjustments.
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator) for precision inspection.
• Demonstrated ability to perform preventative maintenance or assist with minor machine repairs.
• Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
