The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Place and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and material availability for production.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to forecast material needs and manage inventory levels.
• Resolve issues related to supplier performance, quality, and delivery discrepancies.
• Identify and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize the supply base.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) for purchasing and inventory management.
• Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, or engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and logistics.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.
• Experience with advanced data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Fluency in a second language relevant to global supply chains (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, German).
• Technical understanding of specific manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, electronics assembly).
