Season Park Maintenance - Part Time

Responsible for the maintenance of assigned County properties from the Parks Manager. Performs a variety of facility and equipment maintenance, grounds care, custodial work and provides customer service. 

Wage and Hours : $19.98 per hour, 20 hours per week - Could work some weekends and holidays - No Benefits
Position starts in March and works through end of November.

Essential Duties: 

1. Maintains the cleanliness and performs repairs, improvements, and maintenance of the grounds and facility structures (restrooms, pavilions, parking lots) and amenities (playgrounds and benches). 
2. Provides grounds maintenance; mowing, weeding, trimming, and erosion control to parks and other assigned county properties. 
3. Utilizes a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance work. 
4. Operates and performs minor maintenance on trucks, tractors, mowers, or other mechanical equipment. 
5. Inspects park grounds and facilities structures for safety, appearance, and vandalism; removes graffiti from park surfaces; reports any dangerous conditions to designated supervisor. 
6. Provides responsive, high quality service to County employees, representatives of outside agencies, and members of the public by providing accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner. Responds to customer questions and complaints. 
7. Performs other such duties as may be assigned. 

Required Experience and Education: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) 
• One (1) year of experience working in building, custodial, lawn care, and equipment maintenance. 
• Prefer knowledge of horses and horse trails as well as the ability to troubleshoot small engines and perform routine maintenance. 
• Valid Michigan Drivers License.
