Michigan Nanny Solutions is delighted to present a unique opportunity for a thoughtful, engaging, and dependable Full-Time Nanny to join an intellectually curious, home-centered family in Kalamazoo.

With two daughters—an imaginative and bright 8-year-old and a curious, active 2.5-year-old—this family is seeking a nanny who will take the lead in providing attentive, developmentally supportive care for their youngest child while also supporting the daily rhythm of the household.

Both parents work from home and are actively involved in the day-to-day life of the household. At times, they will be present and intersect naturally with the children and nanny; at other times, they will need dedicated, uninterrupted work time. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable working in a shared-space environment and will value clear communication, collaboration, and mutual respect in navigating the flow of each day.

This position offers a consistent, full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, ideally from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility to adjust hours slightly based on the right long-term fit. The family is seeking to guarantee between 30–40 hours per week depending on the final schedule.

As the children grow and both transition into full-time school in the coming years, the role will gradually evolve to include more Family Assistant-style responsibilities for those who enjoy that balance.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engaged Childcare & Daily Routines:

Provide attentive, nurturing care for the toddler throughout the day, supporting routines such as meals, naps, potty training, and playtime. You will take the lead in creating a calm, structured environment that supports her development, independence, and communication skills.

Activity Planning & Early Learning:

Plan and guide developmentally appropriate activities that support early learning through play, including reading, sensory play, outdoor time, and simple structured activities. You’ll bring intention to each day, helping create a steady, engaging rhythm that balances play, movement, and rest.

School Transportation & Support:

Assist with school drop-off and pick-up for the older child and provide light support after school as needed. On non-school days, both children may be present, and you will help facilitate a smooth, balanced day that meets both of their needs.

Child-Related Household Support:

Support the daily flow of the home through typical child-related tasks, including:

• Children’s laundry
• Household dishes used throughout the day
• Tidying and organizing play areas and children’s spaces
• Cleaning up after meals and activities
• Maintaining an organized, functional environment for daily routines
• Light household organization and small projects, as time allows during quieter parts of the day

Health & Safety Awareness:

Maintain awareness of the toddler’s peanut allergy and feel confident following family guidance to ensure her safety. The family will provide clear instruction and support in managing this.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Experience: You have at least 3 years of professional childcare experience as a nanny or daycare provider, with a strong comfort level in caring for toddlers and supporting early developmental milestones. You feel confident taking the lead in overseeing a child’s day while working in a home where parents are also present.

Skills: You are thoughtful, observant, and proactive, with the ability to manage your time independently and stay attuned to both the child’s needs and the overall flow of the day. You bring a calm, steady approach and are comfortable balancing childcare with light household support.

Personality: You are patient, engaged, and naturally curious, with a calm and grounded presence. You enjoy meaningful interaction with children and feel equally comfortable leading play and supporting quieter, more independent moments. You value connection, communication, and being part of a collaborative home environment. You’ll likely feel especially at home in this role if you appreciate thoughtful conversation, enjoy exchanging ideas, and are comfortable engaging with parents who bring a reflective, intentional approach to daily life.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the USA
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Reliable vehicle for transporting children (car seats provided and mileage reimbursed)
• Current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
• Willingness to undergo a background check and drug test
• Up-to-date on all standard vaccinations including last year’s flu and COVID vaccination (required)
