Job Title: Sr Data Engineer (Capital One Experience Required)

About the Role:
We are hiring Data Engineers with hands-on experience in Python, Apache Spark, AWS, and SQL for a critical data engineering role. Candidates must have prior experience working at Capital One.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Apache Spark, and AWS services.
- Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows for batch and real-time data processing.
- Optimize data systems and architecture for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data analysts, product managers, DevOps) to meet data requirements.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production data pipelines.
- Ensure alignment with data governance, privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR).
Required Qualifications:
- Capital One experience is mandatory.
- 5 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Proficient in Python for scripting and data processing.
- Strong experience with Apache Spark (preferably PySpark).
- Deep knowledge of AWS services related to data engineering:
- S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions, etc.
- Advanced SQL skills for data transformation and analysis.
- Familiarity with Capital One internal tooling (e.g., Cicero, ATDD, Hygieia, OneData) is a strong plus.
