Lawn Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and oversee daily mowing, trimming, edging, and general clean-up of lawns, as well as other landscape activities as assigned.
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and client expectations through regular site inspections before and after work is completed.
• Coordinate equipment use, vehicle loading, and route planning to maximize efficiency.
• Support snow season activities as assigned.
• Lead, motivate, and train lawn crew members, fostering a positive team environment.
• Monitor crew performance, provide coaching, and enforce company policies and safety procedures.
• Assist with onboarding new employees and cross-training staff on equipment and safety protocols.
• Ensure proper operation, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment, trailers, vehicles, and tools, and report any mechanical issues.
• Enforce all company and OSHA safety standards, including the use of PPE and safe equipment handling.
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients when needed, and communicate project progress or issues to management promptly.
• Document completed work, incidents, and any client requests or changes.
• Assist in maintaining schedules, time sheets, job logs, and track material usage as needed.
• Ensure all work orders are completed accurately and on time each day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in lawn maintenance and groundskeeping required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lawn maintenance practices, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
• Ability to operate commercial lawn maintenance equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain a chauffeur license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor, including lifting 50+ lbs and extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and operating machinery.
• Availability for early mornings, overtime, weekends, and seasonal variations in work schedule.

Compensation

$23 - $27 per hour, based on experience
