Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: Remote (serving Michigan schools)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction and support to K12 students across Michigan. This independent contractor role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful, individualized services in a fully remote environmenthelping students with visual impairments access their education and reach their full potential.

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in a virtual setting

• Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments (LMA)

• Develop and implement IEP goals in collaboration with school teams and families

• Adapt and modify instructional materials for accessibility

• Provide training and support to teachers, staff, and families on strategies and assistive technologies

• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Michigan and district requirements

• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) (required)

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with students with visual impairments preferred

• Experience with assistive technology, Braille, and accessible educational materials

• Strong communication, organization, and technology skills

• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a remote environment

• 100% remote work from anywhere within Michigan
