Responsibilities / Coverage Context

• Provide locum coverage for the Emergency Department as part of McLaren Greater Lansing.
• Coordinate with ED staff, APPs, residents, and hospitalists as applicable.
• Supervise other health care providers (APP and residents) as required.
• Participate in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and disposition decisions in the ED setting.

Clinical & Procedural Skills

• EM-related procedures: Central Line, Arterial Line, EKG interpretation, Arthrocentesis, Lumbar Puncture, Paracentesis, Incision and Drainage, Suturing of minor lacerations, and other standard ED procedures.
• Ventilation management and airway maintenance (including various modes up to 24 hrs without pulmonary consult).
• Diagnostic and management responsibilities for acute volume/BP issues.
• Adult, Pediatric, and Psychiatric outpatient/primary care related competencies as listed (see full description for scope).

Qualifications

• Board : ABEM or AOBEM; Board Certified
• Licenses : Michigan license required; active and in good standing
• Experience : ED experience strongly preferred
• Credentials : Clean background for quick credentialing

Compensation & Expenses

• Rates: Orientation - 1/2 hourly rate; Hourly - $400/hour; Holiday - 1.5x; OT - 1.5x
• Expenses: Client coverage per Travel Expense policy; Malpractice included; No lodging booked via third-party sites (e.g., Expedia, Kayak); Taxes not reimbursed on lodging
• Conversion: Not specified; Site uses reverse billing; Clock in/out via DocTime
