Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part conformance.
• Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), typically to AS9102 standards, documenting all inspection results.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances, collaborating with engineering and production to resolve discrepancies.
• Review and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine critical dimensions and inspection points.
• Maintain and ensure proper calibration and functionality of all inspection tools and equipment.
• Provide technical support and guidance regarding inspection methods and quality standards to production personnel.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated expertise with precision measurement tools and equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
• Solid understanding and practical experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and AS9102 reporting requirements.
• Ability to accurately identify, document, and report non-conformances and inspection results.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for thorough product verification.

Bonus Qualifications

• CMM programming and operation experience
• Advanced GD&T training or certification
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and software
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification
• Internal Quality Auditing experience
