POSITION OVERVIEW

The Cloud Developer III will develop innovative custom Cloud solutions for many diverse uses at Gentex, including customer-facing products, proof of concepts, and internal engineering applications. As a Cloud Developer you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of Cloud-based software applications.

Location : This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Develop and Architect Software Solutions: Design scalable and efficient software that meets business requirements.
• Modify/Debug Software Issues: Identify, analyze, and fix software bugs to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Develop Production and Test Software: Develop high-quality cloud software and product applications that support Gentex’s initiatives and market expansion.
• Mentor and guide fellow engineering team members to enhance their skills.
• Navigate and resolve technical challenges and roadblocks, ensuring project success.
• Deliver complex projects on time while meeting quality standards.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide impactful solutions.
• Design and create secure, efficient, and resilient cloud architectures.
• Develop and deploy high-quality, custom cloud solutions.
• Implement automated testing processes to ensure reliability.
• Utilize Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Conduct thorough peer reviews of work products, including design, code, tests, and documentation.
• Produce high-quality documentation for all work products.
• Actively participate in Agile process meetings and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud development or equivalent.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express.js, RESTful APIs, SQL, NoSQL, HTML, and CSS.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically:
  • Docker
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) including CDK, Lambda, S3, Cognito, Elastic Container Service, IAM, and IoT Core
  • Git version control
• Understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and resolve complex integration issues.
• Good problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

WHAT WILL HELP

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing within a Linux environment.
• Background in Agile development methodologies.
