Location: Holland, MI

Summary:

The Senior Production Supervisor ensures a safe, productive environment while overseeing operations to meet production and quality goals through teamwork. They train and develop operators for success in current and future endeavors, fostering a highly effective working environment rooted in mutual respect and a shared goal of customer satisfaction. Additionally, they establish and maintain solid working relationships with internal departments and external resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage staffing, conduct daily meetings, and communicate with upper management on production status
  • Coach and mentor supervisors, crew leaders, and lead operators
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of production teams to meet production goals and quality standards
  • Enforce safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Analyze production requirements and coordinate operations between departments to optimize workflow
  • Plan work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to ensure quality standards are met
  • Train and mentor team members, resolving problems and fostering a positive work environment
  • Conduct incident reporting, safety training, and maintain regulatory documentation
  • Lead VIP tours of the department and present at monthly meetings
  • Manage hiring, retention, evaluation, and development of hourly employees
  • Monitor quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct production planning and ensure key performance indicators are met
  • Handle electronic approvals for invoices, parts orders, and organizational changes
  • Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Management or related field or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience:

  • 4-7+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing assembly equipment, including PLC equipment or equivalent relevant experience required
  • 3 to 6+ years of leadership experience
  • Working experience with PPAP (production part approval process) requirements
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost analysis, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
