Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: 4N Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit (46 beds)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), every other weekend & holiday
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890-$1940
• Charting System: Cerner
• Float: May float to similar units or affiliate hospitals
• Orientation: 16 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending certifications accepted)
• Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to trauma, surgical, cardiac, and medical overflow patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage post-operative patients
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage surgical drains and wound care
• Utilize Cerner for accurate patient documentation and charting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Float to other qualified units as needed based on hospital census
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and required nursing certifications
