The inpatient pharmacy technician supports pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. The technician is responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. ***This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500***

As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital link in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. You will join a team that empowers every caregiver to make valuable contributions to patient-focused care, teaching and research activities. **A caregiver in this position works** **day/evening rotation, 6:00am-2:00pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm. with occasional midnights for coverage, every other weekend, every other holiday**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding, and sterile compounding.
+ Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Maintain accurate and appropriate inventory of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
+ Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training.
+ Use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks.
+ Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High School Diploma/GED
+ Six months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program
+ Upon hire, you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
+ In addition to the above requirement, upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee
+ **Please note:** Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months
+ Understanding of algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds

**Pay Range**
Minimum hourly: $19.25
Maximum hourly: $28.00
