Role Summary

Our client, a multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Project Engineer with experience in private site development to serve as a technical lead on civil engineering projects. This role supports project management efforts, contributes to design and analysis, and guides junior staff through all phases of project delivery from planning through construction.

• Lead technical execution of private site development projects under the direction of a Project Manager
• Prepare engineering analyses, calculations, designs, and technical reports for assigned project elements
• Design site grading, drainage systems, and underground utilities, including water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and fire protection systems
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for surface water systems and pressurized/gravity networks
• Develop civil construction documents, including plans, specifications, and supporting calculations
• Provide construction phase support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and coordinating design updates
• Support zoning, land use approvals, and permit application processes; coordinate with local and regulatory agencies
• Attend public meetings as needed to support project approvals and stakeholder engagement
• Mentor junior engineering staff and collaborate with cross-functional project teams

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within approximately 3 months of hire
• Approximately 5+ years of civil engineering experience with progressive responsibility
• Minimum 4 years of experience focused on private site development projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for land development design; familiarity with Civil 3D preferred
• Working knowledge of standard office and engineering software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

• Experience working within a consulting engineering environment
• Exposure to multidisciplinary project coordination
