Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

- Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, OB Special Care Units
- Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
- Start Date: September 30, 2025
- End Date: December 30, 2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shifts: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Floating: Required between Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, and OB Special Care units
- Parking: Free with badge access to parking garage
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1930 - $1980 per week
- Active Michigan RN license (or pending by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with high-risk antepartum and 100-200 facility births/month
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR charting
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certification
- NRP certification
- Proof of high school education
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns across Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, and OB Special Care units
- Float between units as needed to support patient census and facility requirements
- Utilize AWHONN staffing model and adhere to Baby Friendly hospital protocols
- Perform antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum assessments and interventions
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and newborn resuscitation
- Educate and support mothers and families on postpartum and newborn care
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Follow hospital policies, including timely submission of time-off requests
- Complete all required modules and orientation prior to assignment start
