Tube Laser Operator

The Tube Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining tube laser cutting machines used to cut metal tubes and pipes according to engineering drawings and production specifications. The operator ensures high-quality parts are produced safely and efficiently while meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate tube laser cutting machines from manufacturers such as TRUMPF, Bystronic, or Mazak.

Load and unload metal tubes, pipes, and structural materials into the machine.

Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD drawings.

Program or adjust machine settings including laser power, cutting speed, and positioning.

Monitor the cutting process to ensure accuracy and quality of parts.

Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Remove burrs and perform minor finishing if required.

Troubleshoot machine issues and report problems to maintenance when necessary.

Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.

Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Experience operating CNC or laser cutting machines preferred.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Knowledge of measuring tools and quality inspection methods.

Basic computer skills for machine interface and programming.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift materials and work in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods.

Ability to lift materials (typically 2550 lbs).

Comfortable working around machinery and industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with tube laser systems from BLM Group or TRUMPF.

Knowledge of CNC programming or laser cutting software.

Forklift certification (optional but often preferred).
