The Automotive Technician/Mechanic is responsible for maintaining high quality and safety standards on the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce.

What you'll do:

  • Install electrical connectors to finish wiring.
  • Connect rigid hydraulic lines between pump and cylinder.
  • Assemble and install hydraulic pump units & hydraulic cylinders.
  • Assemble and install remote control electronics.
  • Modify plastic panels for body and cylinder mounts.
  • Operate and troubleshoot the hydro/electrical system.
  • Use of hand tools including, but not limited to, grinder, body saw, impact drivers, hand drills and band saw.
  • Perform routine checks on tools and equipment ensuring accuracy and functionality.
  • Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors quality and safety standards, policies and procedures, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Cross-train and assist in others areas as needed.

What you'll need:

  • Mechanical background with previous experience in hydro and/or electrical or other relevant field preferred (such as automotive or aviation repair, farm equipment repair, manufacturing or HVAC/plumbing).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required and knowledge of vehicle mechanics & systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated initiative, willingness to take on greater challenges, and a proactive & results-driven mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail, time-management and organizational skills. Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication & interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
