Med/Surg RN Job Details – Marquette, MI

• Location: Marquette, MI 49855 – Michigan Upper Peninsula healthcare jobs in a welcoming city surrounded by lakes and forests
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 12, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36 hours (guaranteed)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910–$1960
• Unit: Acute Medical/Surgical (6th Floor, Trauma Level II)
• Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner EHR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license – eligible for Michigan nursing jobs
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a medical/surgical unit
• Current ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare setting
• Ability to float to similar units as needed
• Compliance with hospital dress code: Galaxy Blue or Navy scrubs

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients (ages 18–125) on a busy medical surgical unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage IVs using Baxter IV pumps and Kangaroo pumps
• Utilize telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and other clinical equipment
• Document all patient care accurately in Cerner electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Respond effectively in high-stress situations and take appropriate clinical action as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, adhering to hospital policies and healthcare regulations
