Customer Service Representative (Front Desk) – Madison Heights, MI

About the Role

We are seeking a positive, professional, and highly personable Customer Service Representative (CSR) to support a busy pediatric-focused healthcare office. This position sits at the front desk , requiring strong customer service skills, a welcoming demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

This is a very friendly, team-oriented environment led by an experienced and supportive manager.

What You’ll Do

• Answer incoming calls promptly and assist patients with insurance questions, product eligibility, cost information, and general inquiries.
• Provide in-person customer service to patients and families.
• Coordinate appointment schedules for clinical staff.
• Verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations, and process referrals.
• Enter and process orders within the internal computer system.
• Maintain accurate order status updates and perform filing duties.
• Discharge patients professionally and ensure medical records are filed accurately.
• Prepare documents for imaging.
• Work with various Medicaid plans, including multiple HMO variations.
• Assist with simple shipping duties (e.g., sending casts for modification) as needed.
• Support a high-volume pediatric facility, serving 60–70 patients daily across 8 clinicians.

Work Schedule Options

Option 1 – Alternating Schedule (Monday–Friday)

• Week A: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (arrive by 7:20 AM to open the office)
• Week B: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Appointments run from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM; walk‑ins accepted until 6:00 PM.

Option 2 – 4x10 Workweek (Monday–Friday)

• Four 10‑hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• One day off each week (cannot always be Monday or Friday)
• Days off are selected quarterly.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to interact professionally with pediatric patients, including those with visible disabilities.
• Strong customer service skills, including face‑to‑face experience.
• Ability to handle difficult conversations with a calm and empathetic demeanor.
• Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new software.
• Strong multitasking skills (e.g., answering phones while navigating computer systems).
• Good hygiene and professional appearance.
• Team-oriented and willing to help others when available.
• Comfortable with the extended hours of operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison Heights, MI.

The pay range for this position is $29.70 - $33.00/hr.
