Surgical Services – RN Circulator/Ambulatory/PACU

Full time 80hrs

Scheurer, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a registered nurse to work as a full-time employee in the Surgical Services Department. This Surgical Services RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in Surgical Services Ambulatory area and Operating Room as assigned for all patient populations.

The responsibilities of the Surgical Services RN include yet not limited to:

• Rotating through all specialties of Surgical Services (Ambulatory, Recovery Room & OR) as assigned.
• Preparing patients for surgery.
• Circulating surgical procedures as assigned.
• Collaboration and caring for the patient during their Operative episode.
• Verification of Universal Protocol
• Giving SBARQ report
• Ensuring all specimens are managed correctly.
• Documentation on electronic record
• Restocking supplies and care of equipment
• Functioning as a team player
• Recovering patients from surgery.
• Discharging patients from Ambulatory Surgery

Requirements:

• The candidate must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Possess a current RN license from the Michigan State board of Nursing.
• One year of perioperative nurse experience – willing to train the right candidate.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire date if not already achieved.
