Engineer

With offices located in both the Upper Peninsula and in Traverse City, Michigan Broadband Services is a local provider of FTTH, internet, video, and telephony services. We are currently seeking a full-time Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Design, implement, and maintain telecommunications systems and services, including fiber deployment and distribution.
• 
  Develop and interpret detailed design drawings and specifications for telecommunications equipment and systems.
• 
  Obtain necessary permits and approvals for telecommunications projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• 
  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and develop solutions.
• 
  Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
• 
  Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in telecommunications technology.
• 
  Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• 
  Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• 
  Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelors degree in engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 
  Licensed professional engineer.
• 
  Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the engineering industry, with a focus on telecommunications.
• 
  Proven experience in fiber deployment and distribution.
• 
  Proficient in developing and interpreting design drawings.
• 
  Experience in obtaining permits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• 
  Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems and services.
• 
  Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• 
  Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• 
  Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• 
  Proficient in using computer software and applications related to engineering and telecommunications.
•
