Salem Land is seeking a Permit/Zoning Agent to support a client's long-term infrastructure project. This is a 12-month hybrid role offering hourly pay, per diem, and full benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) program.
Location: Hybrid (on-site/remote). Office located in Jackson, MI
Duration: 12 months
Compensation: Hourly. Per Diem available for the right candidate.
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with governmental agencies to secure permits and approvals for construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities.
- Manage zoning, land division, and utility permitting processes.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and objectives.
- Follow Owner’s established policies, procedures, and processes.
- Process certificates of insurance and bond postings.
- Prepare and send correspondence and overnight documents.
- Interpret jurisdictional regulatory policies and procedures related to real estate transactions.
- Read and understand legal descriptions, real estate documents, and construction-related drawings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the Right of Way/Real Estate industry.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Permit/Zoning Agent.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret legal and regulatory documents and construction drawings.
- Experience working with governmental agencies and permitting processes.
