Counter Sales Representative

Hours: Monday through Friday 7am-5pm. NO WEEKENDS.

Job Summary/Objective of Job

The individual applying for this position will be responsible for performing a variety of customer service-related duties. These duties will include, but not be limited to, in-store sales, answering sales-related phone calls, providing customers with estimates/options, assisting walk-in customers, looking up parts, creating work/sales orders, creating pick tickets and selling Valley Truck Parts, Inc. parts and services.

Summary of essential job functions

• Promote Valley’s product in a professional manner
• Sells products and/or services to repair the problem, and meet the customer’s needs
• Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledging all customers he/she comes in contact with
• Record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur
• Follow prescribed cash, credit and check processing procedures of Valley Truck Parts, Inc.
• Attend training as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in job description
• Use equipment and resources safely and proficiently
• Work with the dispatch to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner
• Follow-up with customers, as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Basic computer/application skills
• Ability to effectively listen and speak one on one
• Ability to interpret customers’ needs
• Good organization skills
• Basic Knowledge of product:
  1. Transmission models & parts
  2. Differential models & parts
  3. PTO, pumps, hydraulic valve
  4. Steering
  5. 5th Wheel models (be able to identify)

Physical Demands:

Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50+lbs
