People Operations Assistant

As a Benefits and Leave Management Support, you will play an integral role in ensuring that our people receive exceptional support in navigating their benefits and leave needs. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to our workforce.
Benefits Support
- Assist employees with benefit inquiries and provide information about available benefit plans.
- Support benefit enrollment processes, including data entry, documentation, and coordination with benefit providers.
- Collaborate with the Benefits & Leave Coordinator to maintain accurate employee benefit records.
Safety Support
- Creates Safety Bulletins each month and distributes them to Managers and Employees.
- Updates the People Operations Benefits and Safety Portal using Canva on MS SharePoint.
Leave Management Support
- Backs up and works closely with the Leave Administrator to facilitate leave requests, including FMLA, non-FMLA, and other types of leaves.
- Ensure that employees have the necessary forms and guidance for leave requests.
- Help maintain leave records and track leave balances.
Employee Communications
- Help prepare and distribute benefit-related communications and materials to employees.
- Assist in creating and organizing employee benefits for training purposes.
- Updating and maintaining People Operations Portal through Microsoft SharePoint.
Compliance Assistance
- Support efforts to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of reports required for regulatory compliance.
Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate and organized records related to benefits, leave requests, and employee communications.
- Assist in filing and archiving documents in accordance with company policies.
Desired Education, Skills & Experience
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources specializing in benefits administration, leave management, and workers' compensation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefit administration software.
