Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Aide to support our teachers and students in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. The Classroom Aide will assist with daily classroom activities, help maintain a positive learning environment, and provide individualized support to students as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Help maintain classroom order and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and transitions.
- Assist with record keeping, grading, and organizing classroom resources.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents as needed.
- Support students with special needs or individualized education plans (IEPs) under teacher guidance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Basic knowledge of classroom technology and educational tools is helpful.
Work Environment
This position is based in a classroom setting within a school located in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. The role involves standing, walking, and interacting with students throughout the school day.
