Database Developer
Job Description
Tenneco is seeking a motivated entry-level Database Developer to join our Enterprise Data & Analytics team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate to launch their career in cloud data technologies and enterprise analytics. You will work alongside experienced professionals to learn and contribute to our AWS-based data lake infrastructure while supporting critical business intelligence and corporate performance management initiatives. We will provide comprehensive training on our technology stack including AWS services, ETL processes, Power BI reporting, and OneStream Software.
Compensation: $20/hr to $32/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field (recent graduates welcome)

New graduates from May 2024 or December 2024 graduating classes are encouraged to apply

Strong academic performance with relevant coursework in databases, data structures, and programming
Technical Skills - Required
-
Solid foundation in SQL through coursework, internships, or personal projects

Basic understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling
-
Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C++, etc.)

Understanding of data structures and algorithms from coursework
-
Basic knowledge of cloud computing concepts (AWS experience is a plus but not required)

Exposure to any reporting or visualization tools through academic projects

Willingness to learn enterprise technologies including:

AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue)

ETL processes and tools

Theobald software for SAP integration

Power BI for business intelligence

OneStream Software for financial planning
