Software Quality and Compliance Engineer - AD/ADAS Systems

Woven by Toyota
Michigan
Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

TEAM

Product Integrity

We are the first line of defense for safety + security + quality of AD/ADAS software at Woven by Toyota. Partnering with feature, systems, safety, cybersecurity, and machine learning teams, we turn prototypes into production-intent, standards-compliant software that can be trusted on public roads. Our mandate flows directly from Woven’s commitment to “zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.”

Who We Are Looking For

An engineer with software development life-cycle experience from prototype to mass-production readiness. This is an individual contributor role with wide cross-functional influence across multiple teams. You’ll help bring cutting-edge autonomous technologies to market - safely, reliably, and at scale - by shaping the quality bar from the ground up. You thrive on defining clear quality targets and rolling up your sleeves alongside engineers to close gaps, using data and modern tooling to embed development processes, code quality, traceability, coverage, and other best practices into day-to-day workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end Software Quality roadmap - including coverage, static analysis, traceability, and resource budgets - and produce measurable maturity gains.
  • Establish, tailor, and evangelize quality standards that meet ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, and internal safety & quality requirements.
  • Partner with library and feature teams to transform proof-of-concepts into production-ready software components, investigate non-compliance issues, perform root cause analyses, and establish long-term corrective actions.
  • Influence tooling decisions (requirements management, test automation, LLM based tools) and drive integrations that multiply developer productivity.
  • Mentor engineers, championing a safety-first, quality-first culture across multi-site, multi-cultural teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, EE, CE or related discipline.
  • 3+ years developing and verifying automotive software within a safety-critical production environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of software quality programs for safety-critical production products.
  • Hands-on expertise with coverage, static analysis, MISRA, traceability, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills, able to coach, collaborate, and negotiate across functions.

NICE TO HAVES

  • Demonstrated ownership of process-improvement initiatives or quality frameworks aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, 21448, 21434, or similar.
  • Knowledge of MISRA, AUTOSAR or Quality Management Systems, such as ISO9001 or IATF
  • Quality-focused certifications (CQE, TÜV Functional Safety Engineer, etc.).
  • Experience building or product-owning internal developer tooling powered by AI/LLMs.
