Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines using CAM software and G-code.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for specific part geometries and materials.
• Perform program simulations and dry runs to verify tool paths, identify potential collisions, and ensure part accuracy.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
• Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and implement program adjustments for process improvement.
• Optimize machining parameters (feeds, speeds, depth of cut) to improve cycle times, tool life, and surface finish.
• Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, setup sheets, and tooling lists.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit) and manual G-code programming.
• Strong understanding of CNC lathe operations, tooling, and fixturing.
• Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and apply GD&T principles.
• Proven experience in optimizing machining processes and troubleshooting production issues.
• Knowledge of material properties and their impact on machining parameters.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with multiple CAM software platforms (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, Fusion 360).
• Prior hands-on experience in CNC machine setup, operation, or troubleshooting.
• Ability to manually edit G-code/M-code and customize post-processors.
• Experience with mill-turn or multi-axis machining applications.
• Knowledge of advanced tooling selection and workholding strategies.
