Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) K-12 School Assignment
Location: Big Rapids, Michigan
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite | 20252026 School Year
Partnered With: ProCare Therapy
A school district in Big Rapids, MI is partnering with ProCare Therapy to hire a full-time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for the 20252026 academic year. This position supports students across K12 grade levels in a traditional school setting.
This role is also open to qualified travel candidates seeking a short-term or school-year placement in Michigan. Travel support and housing stipends may be available for eligible applicants.
Key Details:Full-time hours, Monday through Friday
K-12 caseload (specific assignments discussed during interview)
School-year contract
W-2 employment through ProCare Therapy
Valid Michigan Sign Language Interpreter License or Educational Interpreter Endorsement
Current EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score
Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
Previous experience in school-based or educational settings is preferred
Interpret spoken communication into ASL and vice versa in classrooms and school activities
Support academic and social communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and school staff
Adhere to student IEP goals and educational accommodations
Maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all interactions
