THE POSITION: The Pre-Owned Vehicle Salesperson is directly responsible for selling used vehicles meeting gross profit, volume and customer satisfaction standards. Must present a professional appearance.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Determine each customer’s vehicle needs by asking pertinent questions and carefully listening.
- Demonstrate used vehicles, including test drives.
- Know the incoming inventory to include features, accessories, etc. and how they benefit customers.
- Deliver used vehicles to customers. Ensure the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty and maintenance schedule while laying the foundation for customer loyalty.
- Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction. Review with the Used Vehicle Sales Manager monthly objectives, weekly activities, and daily planned activities.
- Understand the terminology of the automobile business and be informed on technological changes in the products and be able to communicate to customers.
- Know and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
- Introduce customers to Service department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the Service department.
- Report any vehicle lot damage or any problems with a vehicle to the Sales Manager immediately. Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
- Follow policies and procedures as set forth in Employee Handbook.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly required to stand, talk, and hear.
- Frequently is required to walk and sit.
- Is potentially exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
