McMillan Behavioral Health and Addiction Services
Ferndale, MI

Job Description

Job Description

About MBHS

McMillan Behavioral Health and Addiction Services (MBHS) is a values-driven group practice rooted in Ferndale, MI. We provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed care with a strong foundation in recovery and LGBTQ+ affirming services. Our current focus includes serving Queer individuals, couples, and communities in recovery, with a growing commitment to expanding access to care for underserved and rural populations across Michigan.

We believe healing is relational, embodied, and informed by the realities of lived experience. As the founder of MBHS, I’m committed to addressing the trauma impacting marginalized communities today—including systemic oppression, racialized violence, and identity-based harm. I’m looking for clinicians who are passionate about expanding the scope of our practice to better reflect the diverse needs of our state.

Position Overview

MBHS is seeking licensed LMSWs with an existing client caseload, and LLMSWs who are just starting out and eager to grow within a supportive group practice. I also welcome fully licensed LPCs who are independently paneled and have an active caseload.

This role is ideal for clinicians passionate about trauma recovery, relational work, and inclusive care. We are especially looking for Telehealth-based therapists who can serve clients in rural regions of Michigan where affirming care is limited. This can be a hybrid postion, if so desired.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples, and/or group therapy
  • Conduct intakes and psychosocial assessments using tools such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, ACEs, AUDIT
  • Diagnose using DSM-5 TR criteria and assess strengths, limitations, and treatment needs
  • Apply NASW Culturally Competent Guidelines with cultural humility
  • Maintain timely documentation (intakes, progress notes, treatment plans)
  • Participate in case consultations and team meetings
  • Conduct Telehealth sessions via HIPAA-compliant platforms
  • Optional: Contribute to trauma-informed retreats, CE trainings, and outreach efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work (LMSW or LLMSW)
  • Fully licensed LPCs with active caseload and insurance credentialing may be considered
  • Experience or interest in working with LGBTQ+ clients, BIPOC communities, or individuals navigating complex trauma and/or Complex PTSD
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care
  • Comfort with flexible scheduling and asynchronous collaboration
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, electronic)
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a remote team

What I Offer

  • Competitive split-fee compensation
  • Clinical supervision for LLMSWs
  • In-house billing and credentialing support
  • Branding and outreach support
  • Flexible hours and remote-first structure
  • Opportunities for CE presentation and professional growth
  • Peer consultation and values-driven team culture

Ready to help shape the future of inclusive care in Michigan? Apply today and be part of a growing practice committed to healing, equity, and expansion.
