As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Unit in Detroit, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer at a cultural institutions location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming atmosphere through strong communication and customer service. Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, clergy, and/or guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and sensitive areas, verify authorized entry, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Carry authorized armed post equipment in accordance with site policies and Allied Universal standards, maintaining professionalism and readiness throughout the shift.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
