Description:


The Body Care Buyer is responsible for the success of the body care category within the Apothecary department, including skincare, haircare, bath, oral hygiene, and other natural personal care items. This role involves purchasing, merchandising, inventory control, and maintaining pricing integrity. The Buyer ensures all displays and endcaps reflect the Plum Market standard, while balancing product mix, turns, and departmental margin. The Body Care Buyer is also a product expert and Customer advocate, offering support to team members and enhancing the overall retail Customer experience.

What you will bring:


Experience in purchasing, merchandising, or relevant retail roles (6+ months preferred).


Strong product knowledge in natural body care categories.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Knowledge of Microsoft Office Apps and the ability to adapt and learn new software solutions.


Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.


Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Physical ability to perform essential duties, including standing and walking up to 4 hours without a break, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and pushing/pulling carts up to 100 lbs. unassisted.


What you will do:


Purchase and maintain stock for body care categories, ensuring adequate inventory levels and product rotation.


Monitor category performance and adjust purchasing based on sales trends, margin targets, and promotional plans.


Maintain visually engaging and brand-aligned displays in all assigned sections.


Ensure pricing accuracy and signage consistency across the department.


Track and log special orders and fulfill Customer requests with care and urgency.


Collaborate with vendors and the Apothecary leadership to identify new products, manage samples, and negotiate promotions.


Stay current on natural body care trends and bring innovation into product selection.


Train team members on new products, usage, and benefits to enhance Customer support.


Follow all health, sanitation, and safety standards as well as Plum Market procedures.
